Hello Everyone!
NACA is less than 2 weeks away - can you believe it?! I know things are getting crazy with Homecoming but this blog post will help speed things up for our table! For this week's post, everyone should post 2 programming tips for each part of the table. So 2 tips to Reduce, 2 tips to Reuse, and 2 tips to Recyle!
Get these posted as soon as you can so we can get them printed out and ready!
Try not to reuse anyone else's ideas!
(Also, if you didn't respond last week, be sure to post the three things you are most excited about for the conference!)

REDUCE:
ReplyDelete1. Reduce paper waste by doing sign-ups verbally and writing them down in the Event Sign Up Book.
2. Reduce amount of flyers/paper advertisements printed by using Facebook and Student Announcements.
REUSE:
1. Reuse the backs of old flyers/agendas to use as scrap paper for voting or 'Happy Bucket' thoughts.
2. Reuse decorations for other upcoming events, store them in the closet for next year, or donate them to another organization who might use them.
RECYCLE
1.Recycle expired flyers and posters by disposing of them in recycling bins.
2.Recycle ticket stubs, coupons, or funny money (for Casino Night) that is used during an event.
Reduce
ReplyDelete1. Use labeled storage bins to avoid double buying.
2. Put White boards up, to reduce waste of writing quick notes.
1. I'm still thinking.....
Reduce
ReplyDelete1. use nontoxic inks for printers
2. use reusable bags when shopping for prizes to reduce use of plastic or paper bags
Reuse
1. Use recylced paper for posters and sign up sheets
2. Old CDs to make cool CD bowls for any kind of music events
Recycle
1. Have series events such as bingo or coffeehouse therefore you don't have to go out and buy something new for every event
2. Old decorations or things that are not used can be recycled or donated to other clubs and organizations
Reduce
ReplyDelete1) Ask for artists and agents to send you PDF's and Websites instead of mailing packets of information.
2)Post large, central, easy-to-read display boards or signs instead of distributing programs.
Reuse
1) Use old posters from past events and tear them up. Don't go out and by notepads when you can use the back sides of posters! Plus you can reminisce on old events!
2)Cut up old T-shirts that are unsuitable for donation, but can be used as cleaning rags.
Recycle
1) Include recycling logos on event posters to remind others to recycle the posters when the event is done!
2)Place recycling bins at the entrance of the events so that participants can recycle before they enter the event and at the exits also
We are doing great everyone! Keep it up!
Reuse
ReplyDelete1. Save a t-shirt from each event then at the end of the year use them to make a "quilt" you can hang to display past events.
2. Use old cd's as decorations near lights, this will make a everything glow!
Recycle
1. Host an informational recycling event, where students can learn what you can recycle, and they can bring items to be recycled. Then the items can be picked up by a facility ... reducing the number of trips if they were to be called separately.
REDUCE
ReplyDelete1. Use recylced products for giveaways and shirts to reduce the amount of waste
2. Try e-mailing reminders and using powerpoints instead of printing out a lot of papers to reduce wasting paper.
REUSE
1. You can cut up old flyers and posters to make confetti and table decorations.
2. Old flyers can also be taped together to be cool backgrounds and boarders on poster boards.
RECYLCE
1. Make sure the recylcing symbol is placed on all flyers and posters as a friendly reminder to recycle the poster when the event is over.
2. Make sure that recylcing bins are at all of your events so that attendees will have a place to conveniently recylce.
Love these ideas... While you're at the conference, be sure to keep these great ideas in mind when you are taking materials in the Campus Activities Marketplace!!
